How to choose POS software in Nepal
Most shops compare price first. These are the questions that cause trouble later.
1. Does it take the payments your customers use?
Check Fonepay QR, eSewa, Khalti and cards. Ask how the till knows a payment really succeeded: a good system waits for the provider to confirm instead of trusting a screenshot.
2. Can it handle udharo?
Credit sales are normal in Nepal. The software should track what each customer owes, not leave it in a notebook.
3. Do the registers work for VAT?
You need clean sales and purchase registers you can export. Rules change, so confirm requirements with your accountant or the Inland Revenue Department.
4. Does stock work across outlets?
If you have, or plan, more than one outlet, stock must be right per outlet from day one.
5. Who do you call?
Ask where support is based and how you reach it. Ours is a WhatsApp message to a real person.
6. Can you leave?
Check you can export your data. See Dhuri Commerce for how we approach these points.
